What is OSFMount doing that is so special? When I look at the dd image with fdisk, it sees 4 partitions with weird file systems like QNX4 and Speedstar or something. BUT, I can't open this DD image or see the files inside in any other program which is making cloning the dd image back to a physical disk very difficult. I can also see my files in TestDisk as long as I select "None" for the partition type. I got the warning mentioned above but OSFMount mounted the NTFS partition just fine and I can see my files. OSFMount is the fastest RAM disk software available, can mount a vast number of disk image formats, and is a must-have standalone program that also works with Passmark's OSForensics package to aid data recovery.I created a dd image with TestDisk and I can't figure out how to restore the NTFS Windows partition contained inside. Mounts CD images in ISO format to increase CD performance.High-speed RAM disk accelerates application performance. Works with Passmark OSForensics to analyze problem recovered data.Supports numerous disk image formats, including IMG, ISO, BIN, VMDK, and VHD.It works with Split Raw images, System Deployment images, NERO NRG files, and Advanced Forensic formats with metadata and directory images.įeatures: Passmark software claims OSFMount is the fastest RAM disk software available. In addition, since RAM disks are deleted when the machine shuts down, you can use them for secure applications holding data you don't want to be recovered in case of a crash, theft, or other loss. You can use a RAM disk to accelerate the performance of programs like games, browsers, or databases. OSFMount can also mount a disk image as a RAM disk, allowing much faster access. You can access mounted disk images by drive letter as if they were a physical disk on your computer. It allows the user to mount recovered disk images in a read-only mode for safer recovery of data.
